Dear Family,
Konichiwa!!! How are you all doing? Things are really really excellent
here in Japan! :) The weather cooled down a little the other day, but
it's hot again today! Classic fall, am I right?
Being with Sister Lopez again is so much fun! We have both changed so
much, and are better friends because of it. I love being with her, and
I also love eating the Mexican food she makes. I'm in Heaven.
Crazy miracle for the week. Kind of a selfish miracle, but something
that really does just so how much God loves me. My Ipad accidentally
restarted itself, which means that it completely deletes all the
photos, notes, and anything else on my ipad. This meant that over 1200
of the photos that I have recently taken were deleted. I was
DEVASTATED! Not only that, but I knew that Mom would kill me if I
didn't come home from my mission with tons of photos. So here's the
miracle part: 3 days before my Ipad did this, I had the feeling that I
had to transfer all of my pictures to a USB device. So even though all
the pictures were deleted from the iPad, I still have them all on a
USB!! I am so blessed! I know it seems like such a minor thing, but it
really did feel so incredible to know that the things that are
important to us (and our mothers) are also important to Heavenly
Father.
We were able to have an incredible lesson with Kaede and Hibiki
Watanabe. They haven't really been interested in meeting for lessons
for about the past month, but after coming to Mori San's baptism, they
asked for another lesson. It was one of the most spiritual lessons
I've ever been present in. Since Kaede and Hibiki are both pretty
young, we decided to teach them about who Jesus Christ is and how to
feel the Spirit through the children's song book. We would sing the
song together, then talk about how we felt and teach simple gospel
doctrines. There is power in music! It has the power to open hearts,
and to change lives!!! As we sing praises to our Heavenly Father, He
will bless us with an increased capability to understand Him and His
ways.
I love this gospel, and I am so grateful for everything that it
provides me. I'm so grateful to be here and share the gospel with
these people I love. Every person in the world deserves the chance to
hear about Christ, and choose whether or not to follow Him. My job as
a missionary is to invite. Invite others to change their lives to
follow the Savior. And if they so choose to follow Him, I will be
there to help them through anything they might face along the way. I
love my job! I love this Work, because it is a perfect work. I might
be imperfect. But Christ's Atonement makes up for all the little
mistakes that I make, and strengthens me to become more than I ever
thought I could be.
To quote what I said to President Wada in this week's letter, "Have I
mentioned lately how much I love being a missionary? I know that it
sounds cheesy, but every day I find a new way to love my life. It
doesn't mean that things aren't difficult, because they most
definitely are! But every day, I get to strive to bring others unto
Christ. I never knew that I could love Japan and these people as much
as I do right now! I never realized that I would grow to love the Book
of Mormon so much! It is my favorite book, and has saved me more than
I can say. I'm grateful for the power of the Atonement in my life and
that I have the chance to change. I know I have a lot of room for
improvement, but I must say, that I really love the person I am
becoming. All thanks to my Savior, Jesus Christ."
Yep. That's it. :)
Love always,
Sister Feist
