Merry Christmas!!
Okay, I will share a really cool experience that happened yesterday.
At church, the relief society lesson was about Prayer. We talked about
how we've been commanded to pray at all times and about all things. An
not only that, but always continue in a prayer of gratitude. Prayer is
something that I've been working on my entire mission. Whenever I have
time to myself, I try to open it up to open communication with my
Heavenly Father. As a missionary, pretty much the only time you have
to yourself is when you're on your bike. Consequently, the second I
climb onto my bicycle, I consider it one of the best times I have to
receive revelation.
Yesterday, we went on about a 20 kilometer bike ride. I think it's
around 12 miles? It was a long time! So instead of being annoyed or
bored, I decided to pray. And it was awesome! I was able to receive a
lot of answers to my prayers, and I felt incredible! For those of you
who know me, you know that I hate bicycles. But honestly, that bike
ride was amazing. I was physically exhausted, spiritually rejuvenated.
I realized I had talked about a lot of things on that bike ride, but
before bed, I wanted to only say a prayer of gratitude. And my heart
was so full! As I started listing the things I was grateful for, more
and more things came to mind. I began to recognize the blessings in my
life that I had never before realized. It's amazing that when we stop
and thank Heavenly Father for one thing, another thing comes to mind.
Again, simply an amazing experience with prayer.
But wait, this isn't the end to my prayer miracle. Last night, I slept
like a rock. My body was exhausted from the bike ride, and when the
alarm went off this morning, I was shocked. It had already been 8
hrs??? I still felt exhausted, and yet, I was excited to wake up. Then
we went on our morning run and everything felt beautiful! I felt so
much gratitude and so much strength! I really had an awesome morning
this morning, and I know that it is a direct consequence of a
heartfelt prayer.
As we strive to always have a Spirit of Prayer in our hearts, our
relationship with our Heavenly Father will be deepened. We will know
His love, and better understand our own worth in His eyes. We will be
receptive to His guidance, and receive greater knowledge and
understanding.
This Christmas Season, let us open our hearts to our Heavenly Father
in prayer and prepare ourselves to receive of His love and mercy. My
goal is to work hard and to see miracles, because this is His work,
and I know that He wants success. He loves us, and He wants us to be
happy and enjoy this Work.
I love you all and am so grateful for the love and support that you
have been giving me! Merry Christmas, and don't forget that Christ is
the reason for the season!
Love always,
Sister Feist
