Life could not be better! Cuz I choose the right down to the letter! I
love the Japanese, I could stay forever! Cuzzzz life could not be
better! <3 ( If anyone recognizes where that's from, they win a Hello
Kitty Hi Chew candy.)
Things are incredible in Atsugi. I had no idea that I could find a
place so far from home where I feel like I completely belong. Everyone
is so kind, and willing to help me with anything. They are thoughtful,
and always striving to help the missionaries see lots of miracles. Not
only do they care about the missionary work, but they care about our
personal lives, our health, and our safety. I love them! I feel so at
home here and love every person I am working with. I have a testimony
that these mission calls are assigned from God through a living
prophet. No man could have assigned me to a more inspired area that
could have such a huge influence on my life. The people who I am
serving with are changing my life and my outlook on how I want to live
after my mission. I love this work and I am so happy.
With Sister Jolley's broken toes, we've been having quite the
adventure finding creative ways to effectively use our time. She needs
more time to heal, and sometimes I'm afraid that we might be pushing
her too hard. We've been able to practice our lessons a lot though,
and it is great to see all of our Japanese and teaching skills
improving so quickly.
We had a really fun activity the other day. We wanted to help our new
investigators (ages 19 and 17) feel more comfortable coming to the
church and interacting with members so we decided to all make pancakes
at the church together. Some members had given us a giant bag of
Krusteaz so we made American pancakes and the members and our
investigators loved them! Then we were able to have a lesson and I
felt the Spirit so strongly as we testified of the restored gospel of
Jesus Christ. Then, they both made it to church on Sunday and felt so
comfortable with the members! They even stayed after for half an hour
and played with the little kids and talked with members. They pretty
much look like members already! Gosh, I really love them all! I love
the gospel, this opportunity I have to share it with the friends that
I love. I am so incredibly blessed. How lucky am I?
Okay, time to tell you about the coolest thing ever. I went to the Hi
Chew Factory today!!!!!!!! A less active from Sister Handy's old area
took a bunch of us and it was so much fun! We saw how Hi Chews were
made and other candy bars made by the same company. Then I went a
little crazy in the gift shop. They have banana flavor here! We didn't
see any Oompa Loompas wandering around, but there were free samples so
I guess there's no need for me to complain right? :)
So I guess that's all for my adventures for this week! I have a new
goal to be better at taking pictures, so be on the lookout! I love you
all and am so grateful for the influence you have had on my life. Hope
the summer is treating you well! I think I might die from the humid
heat of Japan, but other than that, everything is perfect. You know
how you usually start casual conversations with, "The weather's nice,
isn't it?" Well we've transitioned now to, "It is SO HOT! Don't die!"
It's nice, casual, and everyone can relate.
Love you!
Love,
Sister Feist :)
