Sometimes, you literally can't stop smiling!!
Life is so hard, but it's so fun! And I have challenges, but I also
have so many moments where I am just like, that only happened because
God loves me. Like, He REALLY loves me! It's pretty awesome to know
that, and to feel that love every day.
Adriana's baptism was incredible. I couldn't stop smiling. When she
saw Jolley Shimai her face was priceless. Pure joy. As Sister Handy
put it, it was like a girl seeing her best friend on her wedding day.
So many people came to support her. We were really worried at first,
because the ward seemed a little hesitant to accept a someone who
wasn't Japanese, but then a miracle happened! In Adriana's testimony,
she testified that she loves the Japanese and the Japanese culture,
and asked the ward to help teach her Japanese. They were all moved.
The Bishop memorized a welcome to the ward in Portuguese and Adriana
was moved to tears. Her husband Rodrigo came to the baptism,
confirmation, and said he would like to have a lesson this Friday.
Rodrigo even made friends in the ward! The visiting teachers are now
her dear friends. My mom and her are friends on Facebook and my mom
wished her good luck and congratulations and she was so moved! She is
my inspiration, and I love her so much!!
The ward is fired up!! The elders have 3 investigators with WAY solid
baptismal dates!! 2 of them came to the baptism and felt the Spirit so
strongly. Mori San's baptism is moved up to the 21st! Some members
invited us to dinner with a part member family we've been dying to
meet with. They trust us!! The ward loves us so much and they are so
stoked about the work of salvation.
Another miracle that happened this week: We were talking to an old
woman in front of a train on Monday and she noticed our name tags and
started making fun of the fact that we were Christian. She then turns
to the girl who's behind us and tries to get her to join in. The girl
looks at us and says, "I'm Christian too!" Let me just paint of
picture of this girl: Early twenties, way edgy, great fashion. She's
straight up beautiful. We get to talking and within a 2 minute train
ride, she takes a Book of Mormon, exchanges numbers with us,and
promises to come to church. She is literally one of the coolest people
I've ever met! It amazes me that The Lord really does prepare people
for us to work with. He guides us so that we can find His prepared
children. I think it's pretty awesome that as we are obedient and
striving to be the kind of missionary The Lord wants from us, we will
be blessed! And the blessing is that we get to help others come unto
Christ and receive blessings :)
Transfer Calls came today!! I'm staying in Atsugi! And I'm getting 2
new companions!! Actually, one old new companion. Sister Lopez is
coming back to Japan this week, and will be here in Atsugi with me!
How lucky am I to have my MTC companion back?? Our other companion
will be Sister Fautz. She seems really nice! I'm excited to help them
all fall in love with Atsugi :)
Life is good :) I am so incredibly happy!
Love,
Sister Feist
