The Lord is hastening His work across the world! This is His gospel, and every day that I strive to do my best in serving Him, I am feel so incredibly blessed. Sometimes, when I'm struggling or having a hard time focusing, I step back and thank God for His willingness to work with imperfect people. His gospel is perfect, and He has to make due with imperfect people teaching it. Thank goodness for repentance, or I wouldn't know what to do with myself!
These days, I think about repentance a lot. 悔い改め.How grateful I am for a merciful God who has made a plan for me, so that I can become better. That through the atonement of Jesus Christ, I am made clean. Mosiah 4:9-12
9 Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all Wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend.
10 And again, believe that ye must repent of your sins and forsake them, and humble yourselves before God; and ask in sincerity of heart that he would forgive you; and now, if you believe all these things see that ye do them.
11 And again I say unto you as I have said before, that as ye have come to the knowledge of the glory of God, or if ye have known of his goodness and have tasted of his love, and have received a remission of your sins, which causeth such exceedingly great joy in your souls, even so I would that ye should remember, and always retain in remembrance, the greatness of God, and your own nothingness, and his goodness and long-suffering towards you, unworthy creatures, and humble yourselves even in the depths of humility, calling on the name of the Lord daily, and standing steadfastly in the faith of that which is to come, which was spoken by the mouth of the angel.
12 And behold, I say unto you that if ye do this ye shall always rejoice, and be filled with the love of God, and always retain a remission of your sins; and ye shall grow in the knowledge of the glory of him that created you, or in the knowledge of that which is just and true.
So I guess these are the thoughts of my heart.
Thanksgiving was excellent. We went to a naval base and they fed us excellently. It was my Japanese companion's first Thanksgiving dinner, so I was pretty excited to introduce her to everything. The one thing I forgot to warn her of was how sleepy you become from turkey. She was out cold on the couch for a while :)
We got to go to Kichijoji for a Sister missionaries conference! There, we learned from some incredible women how to be more effective missionaries! We also learned how to zumba dance to EFY music.
This Sunday, Myuki and Akiko came to church! It really is amazing how people can receive such incredible revelation just by going to church. It's while at church that the spirit can really testify to us that this church is true, and that through it's teachings, we can receive eternal happiness!
Oh: Everyone should probably know my most embarrassing moment. Backstory: I don't get embarrassed easily, but every time I do get embarrassed it's because of a phone. Either I call the wrong person, or autocorrect makes a simple sentance into something really awkward. Knowing that, this story will make more sense.
Since my companion is a Sister Training Leader, she has a conference call every monday with all of the leadership of the mission. The conference call is usually straight English, which she really just understands. So when the call starts she grabs me and tells me to start translating. Because of the bad reception in the apartment, I had to put the phone on speaker and hold it right up to my ear. I asked if it was on mute, and she said yes and to start translating. I translated the hour long phone call (not well) and went back to normal. This was Monday. It wasn't until THURSDAY that I find out that my phone was not on mute and that all of the mission's leadership heard my horrible translation. AND NOONE TOLD ME. They were all too embarrassed for me to bring it up during the call! Plus, they understand how little my companion actually understood because of how poorly I did. To make it worse, after I found out, serveral people who weren't even a part of the call came up to me and said they'd heard about how well I did. People will tell everyone but me?
It probably doesn't sound that bad, but I'm pretty embarrassed. I've gotten mostly over it, but let me emphasize that I used mute on today's call.
Now that everyone knows I am still an expert at making a fool of myself, have a great day! Remember that God loves you and He listens to your prayers and answers them!
Love always,
